BrandedLogoDesigns Reviews: Vivaldi users get extensive history

Users of the Vivaldi browser will now have a much more comprehensive history function available. Links to once visited websites are thus found in turn.

The Vivaldi browser, developed under the leadership of the former Opera boss Jon von Tetzchner, is given a new feature for Poweruser. They can look forward to a comprehensive history function, which provides sufficient information on visited websites and the browsing habits.

For example, graphical evaluations of pages, top domains or link types can be displayed in the history. In addition, the browser shows all websites accessed in a calendar view. Anyone who does not find an opinion in this view can access the integrated search function. A compact version of the history is also available for the freely configurable sidebar in Vivaldi. This allows users to view the browsing history without leaving the web page they visited.

Vivaldi values data protection

On their release notice, the developers explicitly point out that all data in the history are only stored locally on the user's computer and are not forwarded. "Instead of monetizing the surfing habits of our users, we provide them with this data - to the sole view", confirms Jon von Tetzchner. Users can also remove individual variables from the analysis or delete the entire recording.

In addition to the new browser history, the application receives a more comprehensive muting function for tabs. This allows users, for example, to restrict sound playback to individual tabs or the currently accessed page. Another highlight of the update is the support of drag & drop for creating notes in the browser. For example, text elements can now be conveniently dragged from the website into the memo menu via the mouse. Alternatively, you can insert by right-clicking on the drop-down menu.

All new features are included in the Vivaldi version 1.8, which is available free of charge on the manufacturer's website.
